Stomach Virus and Halloween This and That!

Sorry for being a bad blogger the past week but my bad day on Tuesday got a lot worse. I have had a stomach virus. YUCK! Landon had it last week and I started feeling bad on Tuesday and I had to take off work yesterday. I should have been resting but I cleaned most of the house. It was not a fun couple of days but I am pretty much all better today so thats good. Thank you all for the sweet comments on Tuesday's post. It made my day better.

We did not make it to the pumpkin patch last weekend. I am a little sad about it but Landon is still not really old enough to understand about it yet. We will definintaly be going next year. I can't wait for Satuday though, we are taking Landon trick or treating at our families houses then we are going to a trunk or treat at church. I wish I had a costume to wear. Are you dressing up for Halloween?

Also don't forget about my costume contest. E-mail me at Lanmansmom@gmail your kids or pets picture by Nov. 3 to be entered.

So I've Had a Bad Day.

Have you ever had one of those days where you just want to get back in the bed and then try to start you day all over again? I am having one of those days today.

It all started as soon as I got out of the shower this morning. I heard Landon screaming. As soon as I was decent enough to come out of the bathroom I went and got him. It didn't help he was still screaming. I got Dustin to get him some milk and that help a little but he still would not let me put him down. So I had to put my make up on with one hand while he was laying in my lap. Dustin is not going to work today (he has a stye on his eye that is hurting him pretty bad) so I decided that I would just finish getting ready at my sisters house. So we left home and I still had my pjs on and my hair was soaking wet. Well guess what it was raining and we have no umbrella. So we get to my sisters and we are ringing her doorbell and knocking and she doesn't hear us because she is drying her hair. We had to stand outside for about 5 minutes.

Dustin and me are on the way to my work. I was starving so we stopped by Jacks. I spilled gravy on my shirt and now I have a stain. While we were there Dustin's stomach started hurting and he wanted to go home. This would have been ok if we were not already running late. But never the less he went home leaving me to drive to work. I was already about 10 minutes late and traffic was backed up because there was a traffic light out. I ended up getting to work at 7:50 and I am supposed to get here at 7:30. I also forgot my drink in the car and now my stomach hurts and I just don't feel really good. Not a good morning. I hope the rest of the day goes a little better. I really wish I could crawl back under the covers for a little while and then try to start the day over again.

Flashback Friday...Pumpkin

This is my Kitty Cat pumpkin that I carved back in 2006.I loved this pumpkin but on Halloween day I picked it up to light it and it fell out of my hand and smashed everywhere. Lets hope that doesn't happen this year. I carved my pumpkin for this year Wednesday night. It is a just a scary face but I am also thinking about doing a Alabama pumpkin.

PS. I had a lot of people interested in the coustume contest so if you want to enter send your picture to lanmansmom@gmail I will be taking them from today until November 3. Then I will put them up on here on the 4th for everyone to vote. They maybe a little something for the winner too. So let everyone know about it.

I Am Growing Up..

Hey it's Landon. I decided to take over my moms blog today. She say's that she is very busy at work.

Did you know that I will be 13 months old this weekend? My mom says that I am growing up to fast. But I like growing up and learning new things. I have stopped eating baby food and now I get to eat pretty much whatever my mom and dad are eating. I still like to drink out of my bottle though but mom says that I am going to have to give my bottle to a little baby and start drinking out of a sippy cup. I don't know if I like that idea to much. I can walk wherever I want to now but I can still crawl faster. I am finally getting another tooth. I need it with all this new food that I am getting to eat.

My mom says that this weekend she is going to take me to a pumpkin patch. I don't really know what that is but it sounds fun. I do know what a pumpkin is though my dad bought my mom one home last night to carve. I liked it a lot.

My grandma (my daddys grandma) has been here this week. She has been spoiling me. I have gotten a ton of new outfits. One of them says Cool Beyond My Years. Which is totally true. I really like having her here.

Yesterday I didn't feel so well. I threw up a few times. Once it went straight down my Hannahs dress and the other times it was on my Sissy. I didn't mean to get them dirty but I couldn't help it. But I feel lots better today. All I needed was so rest and snuggle time with my Mommie.

This blogging is pretty fun. I see why my mommy likes it so much. Well it's time for my nap so I gotta go.

"The Birds"

**Warning do not read this or especially look at the picture if you are A) Like me and are deathly afraid of birds or B) Squeamish. Don't say I didn't warn you**

Friday afternoon we were driving home from picking up Landon at my sisters. We were drving along and all of the sudden BAM something hit our window. I was in the back seat with Landon and Dustin was driving as soon as I seen it hit I looked out the back window and saw something flying off. I was like "Oh my gosh we just hit a bird and look there is a feather stuck in our windshield wiper". Well it turns out that they was more than just a feather stuck in there.

I did see something fly off though so we think that there were two birds either fighting or mating. I am deathly afraid of birds. They are ok to look at but I don't want one anywhere near me. I was scared to get out of the car. Just gives me the creeps. I think it all goes back to Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds".

When I was was younger I was trying to pick up something on the top shelf at Wal-Mart and it was during Halloween and someone had put a fake crow on top of whatever I was trying to get. I threw it halfway across the store and was sreaming like crazy.

If there is anyone still reading this (I won't hold it against you if your not) What are you afaid of?

Weekend Roundup

Friday night we drove about an hour with "Granna" to pick up Dustins Grandmother. We ate at Cracker Barrell and Landon was loving it.

Isn't that the cutest face ever?

He could sit up in a big boy chair and got to eat some yummy food (grilled chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes).

Landon stayed the night with them because I had to go to school extra early Saturday morning because I had to make Buffalo Chicken Dip

This was before I put the cheese on top. (It was delicious)

and the campus I usually go to was having electrical problems. So of couse I got lost (well I thought I was lost). I just went around the world to get there. Anyways we got out early which rarely happens but I was so glad it did because we were going to Tuscaloosa.

Andrea and Me

We got to Tuscaloosa around 1:00 and it was freezing. Our friends that we tailgate with decided to leave around 5:00 and just watch the game at home. We decided to go home to because it was soo cold. I was a little upset at first but I was glad to see Landon and to be warm. We won 20-6. It wasn't the prettiest of games but a win is a win. Alabama is now #1 in the AP poll. Yeah!!! We have Tennesee next week. I can't wait. I wish I was getting to go to this game. Does anybody have any tickets?

PS: I am thinking about hosting a Costume Contest on my blog the week after Halloween. You will send pictures of you childern or pets in there Halloween coustumes and then everyone will have a chance to vote. Let me know if you are interested.

Landon's New Favorite Word

Landon loves to "talk" most of the time we have no clue what he is saying but there are a few words he says pretty clear. Such as, Mama (his favorite), Dada, bye bye, bite and book. He says those pretty often. He also as said football, bath, baby, sissy to name a few.

Well Dustin's mom has been trying to get him to say Granna (that is what she wants him to call her). Well the other night he was sitting in his highchair eating supper and she was like "Landon, say Granna", "Landon, please say Granna" over and over finally she said "Dang Landon, please say Granna". Well do you know what he said? Dang! and he said it so clear and he has been saying ever since. It is his new favorite word. We now know that everyone has to watch what they say around him.

A Trip To Wal-Mart

Yesterday was our local Wal-Mart's Grand Reopening. They have been remodeling the store and now I can't find anything but that's not what this post is about. I was meeting my sister there yestereday to pick up Landon and before I got there she called me and said that Bobby Humphrey and Tyrone Prothro were there signing autographs. So of course Landon had to get some things signed.

Bobby Humphrey played at Alabama from 1985-1989 and then went on to play for the Denver Broncos and Tyrone Prothro played at Alabama from 2003-2005 until he sufferred a break to his lower leg. You may remember him from this:

"The Catch"

You never know what you might find at Wal-Mart.

Dinner is Served (Saved)

I am not the best cook in the world. I try though at least. Well my mom was a wonderful cook. She used to make Dustin and me all sorts of yummy things. Well one of the things she used to make was (Well I don't really know if it had a name) for now we will call it Cheesy Broccoli Chicken with Noodles, anyway it had Macaroni with white cheese, broccoli florets, and chicken. It was delicious. Well I decided that I was going to try and make us some last night. I didn't remember what all was in it until I was half way done with it. I forgot about the macaroni having white cheese not cheddar cheese, I forgot about the broccoli (the macaroni I had bought had broccoli in it but you could not even taste it) but that’s not even the bad part.

Whenever I cook chicken I bake it (but lately I have not liked it this way) or if Dustin cooks it he grills it (which I like). So I asked my sister how I should cook the chicken (for the record I thought I should boil it) well she said just cook it in the skillet and when it's almost done cut it up in small pieces while it is still in there. Ok I thought sounds easy enough. Well I am very surprised that we did not have to call the Fire Department last night. Our house was covered in smoke and I got burnt like five times. I will never do that again. Dustin had to take Landon outside there was so much smoke. I may not be making this dish to much. It was eatable and Landon enjoyed it (at least someone appreciates my cooking).

My "little" Big Al

On Saturday (after I had went to school and took a test on EVERY bone in the body, and during the Alabama/Ole Miss game) I took Landon to a Fall Festival at the church that I went to growing up. I dressed him up in his Halloween costume. He hated putting it on but did really good with it on. He looked so cute. Everyone there loved it.

He was really too little to play any of the games but my sister, niece, and I helped him out and we came home with a sack full of goodies. He also loved the cake walk. He won that Rice Krispy treat in it and he would not let go of it. My "little" Big AL. Had a great time.

Alabama is now 6 and 0 and #2 in the country. Roll Tide Roll. We are planning on going to Tuscaloosa this weekend for the game since it is at 6:45 so we can drive down once I get out of school. I can't wait.

Show Us Your Life- Teams, Traditions, and Tailgating

Today's Show Us Your Life (hosted by Kelly over at Kelly's Korner) is Teams, Traditions, and Tailgating.
If you have every visited my blog before you will know that I am a HUGE Alabama Crimson Tide Fan! RTR! I am glad I married someone who was a Bama fan too. I don't think I could live in a house divided.

Even Landon has been a fan since birth.

Whenever Alabama is mentioned you have to think about "The Bear".

The Bear became Alabama's Head Coach and Athletic Director in 1958

He coached at Alabama for 25 years

Won 6 National Championships and

13 SEC Championships

With a total of 323 Victory's

"I ain't never been nothing but a winner"-Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant

Alabama is full of tradition thanks in most part to Coach Bryant and to it's dedicated fan base and now that tradition is continuing with Coach Saban. Some of my favorite traditions are

The Walk of Champions:

Which is where the players walk in to the Stadium about 2 hours before game time.

The Iron Bowl:

Alabama vs. Auburn

In Alabama this is considered the biggest game of the year. No matter what the other teams record is that is all in the past. This is the only game that matters. Both teams play there hearts out in this game. It is usually played the Saturday after Thanksgiving but they moved it to the Friday after this year and this will be my first year ever to actually go to the game. Yeah! Forget shopping.

Then there is the Tradition video that is played before every home game and it gives me chills every time I see it.

Tailgating... One of my favorite parts about Saturday's in Tuscaloosa. I loved to see all the people and smell all the food (oh my goodness at the food). There are always things to do. My favorite are: shopping at the little booths that are set up everywhere, eating at my favorite place Big Bad Wolfe's (Best BBQ ever! Hands Down), and Hanging out with friends.

But my absolute favorite thing about football Saturday's is The Game!
We bleed Crimson and White around here. We even had to show our team spirit at our wedding
Landon has already made a trip to Bryant Denny (well twice actually once in utero)
And here is a picture of me with last years QB. John Parker Wilson.

We Love our team and our coach and we will always be behind you cheering:

Go Bama beat those Rebels!!
