When Dustin and me first got married we were looking for a couch and bed at Rooms to Go with his mom. We walked over to the kids section and we saw all the cute little beds and Dustin's mom told us that when we had a baby when "it" got ready for a bed instead of a crib she would buy "it" one from there. Well of course you all know that we know have Landon. We were going to wait on a bed because he hasn't outgrown his crib but Thanks to Obama places aren't allowed to offer the no interest for 3 years or whatever like Rooms to Go did. We went a few weekends before that stopped so she could still qualify for that. We had a hard time deciding on a bed. Dustin wanted bunk beds and that would have been ok but I wanted him to have a full size bed so he could use it for a long time. The full size bunk beds would have taken up his entire room. So finally we decided on a full size Alabama bed it has a captain's drawers and two little doors so you can store stuff under the bed without it being seen (which I love).
Update: Here is the bed my MIL just sent me this picture.
Before it arrived we decided that we were going to paint his room because it was a sea green color and we didn't think that it would look to good with his new bed. We decided to paint it Gray with a Crimson accent wall. Here is some pictures of the painting process.
I think it looks really good.
Landon also got this super cute chair to go with his bed.
I think he loves it. He is able to get into and out of it all by himself.
Todays topic for Top Two Tuesday's hosted by Taylor at The Undomestic Momma is Two Items You Can't Live Without..
so without futher adieu...
1. My Cell Phone... I have a Blackberry Curve and I use it for so much..I do a lot of work from emails and I get all of my emails on my phone. I also use it for other more important stuff such as Facebook, and Twitter. I would be completly lost without my phone.
2. My Straightner...I don't know what I would do without it. I use it pretty much every single day. Unless it is raining then I usually wear it curly because it will end up that way as soon as I step foot outside.
Landon will eat anything. I have yet to find anything that he will not eat. He loves all food. Some things he has eaten that I find crazy for a 1 year old to eat are: beef jerky, spinach dip, hot chips, and yesterday he ate a piece of a raw potato and a piece of a raw onion (yuck). He really loves fruit though and especially oranges and bananas. But he always makes crazy faces when he eats oranges. Here is a little video of him eating a orange:
I guess it was a little sour...
Will your children eat anything or are they picky eaters?
The Sunday we left for Vegas. Landon had an appointment to get some professional pictures taken by Samantha Ferguson at His Hands Photographs. If you live in Bham you should really check her out. Here are some of the pictures from the session.
I loved them all so much. I think I have finally decided which ones to order.
Friday was our last day in Vegas. Our plane didn't leave until 6:30 so we had the whole day go out and about. We started the day by going to the gift shop at the hotel and getting a few things. Dustin got Ladnon a shirt that says "Potty Like a Rockstar" and we got some playing cards that had been used in the casino's. Then we went to check our luggage at the hotel to send to the airport. This was awesome. You just check your luggage with them and then they get it to the right place at the airport. They also printed our boarding passes for us. After that we went and played a few slots and Dustin and me waited for Noodle Asia to open so we could eat some Chicken Fried Rice. I hated to leave our hotel. It was so nice here are two pictures I took after we left the hotel.
After that we meet Dustins mom at O'Sheas and played there for a little while. Then we went to the Imperial Palace and watched the Dealertainers (all the dealers are impersonators) after that we started playing three card poker it was probably the most fun we had playing cards. We played for like 3 hours and we were playing with some guys from England and they were hilarious. Even the dealer was getting so into the game. We didn't want to leave but we had to get to the airport. We had a crazy bus driver that drove us to the airport I was scared that we were going to wreck before we got to the airport but lukily we made it all in one piece. We played a few slots at the airport and I went to Starbucks and tryed the Iced Dark Cherry Mocha it was delicious. Finally our plane and arrived and we boarded. I napped here and there on the plane and we got back to the airport about 12:20. I was so glad to finally be home and back to my own bed.
Saturday morning I was so glad to get to my sisters house to see Landon. I had missed him so much. After we picked him up we went to Dustins grandmothers and stayed the night. It was a good weekend of mostly just relaxing.
While we were there Travis came over and him and Dustin were talking about going back to Vegas in the Fall. They decided that the three of us were going to go back in September. So on Monday when I get to work, Dustin calls me and says that our trip is booked. We are going back on September 16th through the 19th and we are staying at the MGM.
On Thursday I went back to the Fashion Show Mall by myself and I got totally lost. Dustin and Travis had went back to Lagasse's Stadium to watch the first half of the Alabama basketball game. They called me when it was over and told me to come back to the hotel to meet them. It took me about 20 minutes to find my way out of the mall. Once I got back we went to have lunch and then Dustin went and played some poker and Travis and me went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum it was so much fun. Here are a ton of pictures...
Also I got married while in Vegas to who you may ask...
George Clooney of course...
You can all call me Mrs. Clooney from now on..
I had a blast at the wax museum. For the most part all of them looked so real. There hair and eye lashes even felt real. It was kind of crazy how real they looked.
After the Wax Museum, Dustin and Me decided to walk around for a little while until Travis got out of his show. So we started out walking around the shops at the Venetian.
The celing is painted like the sky. It was so beautiful.
Then we decided to go walk the strip.
Which is completely gorgeous at night.
We had decided that since it was our last night we were going to stay out late but we ended up going to bed early than we had the rest of the week because we were so tired.
On Wednesday we started the day off by going to breakfast at The Grand Lux Cafe it was so yummy. Then we stopped and played our favorite slot machine "The Wizard of Oz" we were doing good and making a lot of noise so we had a crowd of people watching us. Then after we got ready, Dustin, Travis, and Me went to Lagasse Stadium it was awesome. It has over 100 tvs. We decided that we would eat there for lunch. I had wings (I had been craving some wings).
Outside Lagasse Stadium in the Palazzo
Then we went next door to The Wynn.
Inside The Wynn.
We stayed and played there for a while before going to the Fashion Show Mall.
The Fashion Show Mall.
The mall was huge. We went to Macy's so Travis could get a new watch, then we went back to the casino and played a while.
We were supposed to all be going to dinner at Delmonico Steakhouse but Dustin and Me were still so full we decided not to go but right after everyone else left I got really sick. I thought I might be getting a stomach virus but I think it was something that I had ate. I stayed in the room and watched American Idol and rested while Dustin we down and played poker. Then after everyone got back from dinner and there shows, I was feeling a little better so I went with Dustin and Travis down to the casino and we also went to Treasure Island. I never got sick again after that so I imagine it was something that I had ate.
