Bama Rising

Two months ago today on April 27, 2011 Alabama was hit hard with a tornado outbreak. Soon after it happened Bama Rising was founded. On June 14 they put together a benefit concert. My niece and I went and it was wonderful. Here are some pictures from the concert.

It was an amazing night and a awesome line up. The musicians were The Blind Boys of Alabama, Alabama, Luke Bryan, Taylor Hicks, Bo Bice, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen, Ashton Shepherd, Martina McBride, Sara Evans, Sheryl Crow, Montgomery Gentry, Little Big Town,Rodney Atkins, Kellie Pickler, Darius Rucker, David Nail, the Commadores, and Brad Paisley. Also there was Dale Jr, Jay Barker, Kirk Herbstreit, and Paul Finebaum. The concert started at 7:30 and ended around 1:00 and it was on a Tuesday night. I am so glad that I took off work on Wednesday. I don't think I would have been able to make it. The best part of the night was when Brad Paisley and Alabama sang "Old Alabama" together. It was amazing. I will try to post the video soon.

A couple of weeks ago I took Landon to the McWane Science Center. He loved it so much that we are going to be getting him (and the rest of us a membership for his birthday).

Posting two days in a row, I'm on a roll. ha. Of course this post will have no pictures because my computer is broke and I can't post pictures from my iPhone (well I may be able to, I just don't know how).

Anyway, Landon went on his first (well really second but the first was only just a quick stop by and it was to cold to do anything) beach trip this past weekend. We went to Destin with my sister and Landon loved every minute of it. We left on Thursday and all week last week Landon would get so mad because each day he woke up and thought it was the day we were going to the beach. He cried when we had to tell him just a couple of more days, He would say no I want go beach right now. He loved playing in the sand with all his sand toys. He was a little afraid of the ocean at first but by Saturday afternoon he was all the way out in the middle of it with us. He also loved the kiddie pool at the condo. He called it the baby swimming pool he liked that there were lots of other kids there for him to play with.

We didn't do much of anything besides stay at the beach and the pool. We did go eat at Fudpuckers where Landon got to pet a real alligator. He kept saying I wanna pet a alligator and I thought that when we got up there he wouldn't do it but he rubbed its back and squeezed his leg and it even gave him five. I kind of felt sorry for the gator after we left. We also ate at Hammerheads it was delish and it was in the cutest little village.

I got super burnt but Landon of course got a nice tan even wearing SPF 50.

We went to the beach for just a few minutes on Sunday before we came home to take some pictures but he thought we were there to play and go swimming. He got so upset when we had to leave. He can't wait to go back again. Every night when we are getting ready for bed. He says I fun at beach. He is too funny.

Sorry for my lack of blogging, less than a week after we got our computer fixed it broke again. We are about to have to break down and buy a new one. There is only so much we can do from my iPad and our iPhones. I still read all of your blogs everyday from my phone but it is so hard to post from there. I plan to be back blogging every day very soon.

Anyway Landon is in a Cutest Kid Contest on Facebook and I thought I would ask all you if you had a minute to go and vote for him. 1. Can you drive a stick shift?
Nope...Well I have actually have never tried to drive a stick shift. I think that if I tried I would get the hang of it pretty quickly.

2. What are two foods you just can't eat?
Meatloaf..yuck and Pork chops...gross. Makes me kind of sick thinking about them.

3. Do you buy Girl Scout Cookies? What is your favorite kind?
I try not to buy them (not because I don't want to support the girl scouts but because I can't just buy one box.ha) My favorite kind is Thin Mint.

4. How do you pamper yourself?
I don't pamper myself to often but if I get the chance to I love to get a mani and pedi and go shopping.

5. What is your nickname and how did you get it?
I don't really have a nickname. My niece calls me Bambi (I am not really sure why but she has called me that since she was little) and my daddy calls me Bran and sweetie but that's about it.

I haven't been blogging that much because I computer has been messed up but it is fixed now.Yea!

Yes. Well maybe not the exact same outfit but I usually wear my jeans at least twice a week before washing.

2. If you had to choose any LARGE city to live in, which would it be?
Probably Vegas but I actually don't think I would want to live there all year long. Maybe just have a second house there. ha.

3. Fly or drive with the kids on vacation?
We have never flown with L yet only drove.

4. What is your idea of "spring cleaning"?
I don't usually do "spring cleaning" I just clean all year long. ha.

5. What is the best book you have ever read?
I loved Dear John by Nicholas Sparks.

Weekend Recap

Friday night my niece and me went to see Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, and Jerrod Niemann. It was a great concert. I will post pictures sometime this week.

Saturday morning we had to take Dustin's grandmother home. She had been here staying with Dustin's mom for a few weeks. Saturday night we all went out to eat at this place that has delicious catfish. Landon was so funny while we were there he got chicken fries and after he would take a bite of one he would say "I love chicken" and we found out that he loves slaw, he ate almost my entire bowl of it.

Sunday morning as soon as we woke up I dropped my iPhone in the toilet (I was and still am devastated). I still don't have a phone. Sunday afternoon Landon and me went to Walmart with my sister. I had to get a few groceries and she wanted to let Landon pick him out something for Valentine's day. She decided to let him get a movie and so when we got over to the movies she let him out of the buggy and he ran up to the DVDs and said "Oh my gosh, I love it. It's my favorite" to every movie. She got him a Yo Gabba Gabba movie and I got him one that had a bunch of different shows on it. After that we went over to Granna house to play outside because it was such a nice day yesterday. Landon got to blow bubbles and play with his 3D sidewalk chalk. We also went and got frozen yogurt which is Landon's favorite.

Today Landon was having a Valentines party at daycare. So he went to daycare with his little valentines cards and some m&m's to give to all his friends. I wish I could have been there to get pictures.

1. Would you rather be on ABC's Extreme Home MakeOver or TLC's What not to Wear?
That's a tough one. I would love to be on either show.ha. But I guess I would have to say What not to Wear because the families that are on Extreme Home Make Over all have such sad stories and luckily I am not in any situation like that.

2. Do you have any tattoos?
Nope.

3. Do you tell your kids about things you did growing up?
Well my son is only two so he probably doesn't care right now but I am sure I will tell him somethings as he gets older.

4. If the traffic signal turns yellow, do you stop or speed up?
It depends. If I am really close then I might speed up or if I am in a hurry but usually I stop.

5. What's your preference: chocolate or chips?
Both are delish but I prefer chips over chocolate most of the time.

Potty Training

We have began to potty train Landon. He will go whenever we ask him if he wants to potty but he doesn't tell us that often that he has to go. Anybody have any potty training advice?? Help..

Like I said he doesn't usually tell us that he has to go but the other night we were all laying in bed and and he said that he need to go potty so his daddy got up to take him, Landon looked at me and said "I be back in five minutes mommy". It was so cute. He also cracks me up when he goes #2. He will push and push and when he is all done he says "Feels better mommy".

I have a question for all of you. Did or do your children have to take off there pants and everything before they will use the potty. Landon has to have his shoes and pants completely off before he will use the potty. I am completely fine with that at home but I don't want to take him to a public bathroom and have to pull off all of his clothes. Any suggestions??

Today over at Kelly's Korner is Show Us Your Life..What your kids eat.

I am pretty lucky Landon eats just about anything. He eats mostly the same things we eat. I really try to feed him healthy things. Some of his favorite things to eat right now are:

Hot dogs- I think he could eat about 5 hot dogs in one sitting.
Chicken nuggets/fingers/tenders- He loves just about any kind of chicken but his favorite is grilled chicken tenders from Cracker Barrel.
Grilled Cheese
Spaghetti
Green beans
Corn
Soups-He loves veggie soup.
Oatmeal
Biscuits
Sausage
Pizza

He also can eat some pretty strange things for a two year old. He loves and I am talking loves him some raw onions (Gross) He gets that from his daddy though. He loves spinach dip and salsa. Another one of his favorite things to snack on are chips and crackers.

He will eat pretty much anything. I haven't found to many things that he won't eat. He used to not like peaches but now he loves them.

Bed Time Conversations With a Two Year Old

My favorite part of the day has quickly become bed time. I think it may be Landon favorite part of the day too. He loves to get under the cover and snuggle with mommy and daddy.

Then I will always ask him what he wants to talk about. He is so cute because he always goes ummmm then he says whatever he wants to talk about (which is usually rainbows. I am not really sure why he loves them so much) he likes to talk about what color the rainbows are. He always says the three colors that he knows that are in the rainbow (green,orange,and yellow or ellow as Landon says) then I name all the other colors that are in the rainbow and he repeats them.

Then we might talk about a variety of things. Some of his favorite things to talk about are camels, dinosaurs, barney, hannah (my niece), forts (his new favorite thing to do), Payton (pey pey his best friend at daycare), and pom pom (my aunt and his daycare teacher), and who knows what else he is always coming up with something new.

After all of that, I am ready to go to sleep but I think he could talk all night long. I will tell him ok mommy needs to go to sleep now. He usually says ok mommy. Goodnight I love you. Then he will rub my face and say sweet dreams. It is the most precious thing ever!

It's Been Way To Long..

It's been way to long since I have posted. I miss it and I miss all of you. I still have been reading all of your blogs. Have you missed me? I hope so...

I started a new job in September and I stay a lot busier than I used to be so I don't really have that much time to post while I am here. It's pretty slow on Friday afternoons so I got a chance to post today. I can't put pictures up while I am here but I will try to get some updated pictures of Landon on here very soon. You all won't believe how much he has grown. It amazes me how "growny" he acts. He is a little boy now. He talks like crazy and talks pretty much is complete sentences. He keeps all of us laughing all the time. I am not sure if any of you are friends with me on facebook but I posted this conversation that we had one night on there. As we were getting to church one night I said L are your friends going to be here? He said "No". I said why not where are they? He said "at the Hospital" (He is obsessed with the hopittle) I said Oh no why are they at the hospital? Are they sick? He said "No hurt". I said how are they hurt? He said "chapped lips". It was so funny.

I missed posting about some of the things that have happened. For Halloween Landon dressed up as a UPS man. He was so precious. I went around with him dressed as his package. I will try to post pictures of it soon. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Then the week before Christmas Dustin had a wreck. A 18 wheeler pulled out in front of him. Luckily he only had a dislocated ankle but he has been in a lot of pain and is just now getting to where he can walk some. It totaled our car. We got a new car finally. We had a Ford Sport Trac and we ended up getting a Camry and it took some time to get used to but now I love it especially the gas mileage. Even though Dustin was hurt we had a great Christmas. Landon of course got way to much stuff. And this month Dustin's brother and his fiancee got married and Dustin's cousin had a baby. So it has been a great month.

I really have missed all of you.

Most of the times yes but there are occasions that I have to have a little spending spree for myself. Hey I deserve it right?

2. How well do you know your neighbors?
Not too well. There not very social.

I am happy where I am now. lol.

4. Do you get excited when the mail comes? Why?
Yes, I love getting stuff in the mail but usually it's just bills.yuck.

5. What is your earliest childhood memory?
When I was four, we went to the beach I remember riding my bike down to the edge of the water. Then I got really sick (sun poisoning) and we had to go home early.

Way To Long..

So it has been way to long since I have posted anything. It has been a crazy couple of weeks around here. We had some family issues and my dad was in the hospital for about a week. He is out now and is doing good.

I got a new job offer. It's at the same place I work now but in a different department. So I am working out my two week notice right now. I am super happy about it as it is a great opportunity and a pay raise but I am going to miss all of my co-workers that I have now. I start next Monday so wish me luck.

Landon will be two in just a little over two weeks. I can not believe it he has grown up so much in the past month.

Yes, a lot actually. When I was little a lady at the church that I went to started calling me Cornbread because she said that I laughed like somebody or a cartoon (or something like that) on tv whose name was Cornbread. My neice has been calling me Bambi ever since she learned how to talk.

2. What is your birth order amongst your siblings?
I am the baby. First was my brother then my sister then 19 years later me.

3. In a movie of your life, who would play your significant other?
Chris Daughtry. He is not a actor but my husband has been told a few times that he looks like him.

4. What is currently your favorite song?
Alejandro or Boys of Fall. Just depending on what kind of mood I am in.

Last week I finally decided it was time for Landon to have a haircut. I was trying to put it off as long as possible but it was starting to look bad.

1. Are you a neat sleeper or a messy sleeper?
Neat. I hardly ever even move while I am a sleep.

2. Fill in the blank. I wish I was more Organized (at home) I am very organized at work but I lack all organization at home.

3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about?
Not to gain so much weight while I was pregnant (I actually was probably warned about this but it was either too late or I didn't really listen probably the latter) because it is so hard to get it off now.

4. What was the best thing you ever found at a garage sale/flea market?
Probably clothes for Landon. Right after we found out that he was a boy. There was a yard sale down by Dustin's mom house and the lady had had a little boy about a year before Landon was born so all the clothes matched with the seasons perfectly. I think we bought just about everything she had. Needless to say Landon had plenty of clothes for the first year of his life.

I also found this really neat Wizard of Oz collectible dish once.

5. If you could have any meal brought to you right now, what would it be?
Japanese..Yummy.

First before I share about our weekend. Wednesday my bff had her baby and so Thursday night we went to see them in hospital. Landon was at Dustin's grandmothers so he didn't get to go but he will see baby Bryant soon.

Here is me with Bryant. It looks like I am just holding a ball of blankets but I promise there is a baby in there. He was so sweet and I am so happy for them.

We didn't do very much this weekend. I cleaned a ton on Saturday morning while Dustin was at work then we went over to Granna's for Jen's birthday party. We had so much yummy food.

We went back over there yesterday for a little while. Then last night Landon and me went to church with my sister. There church stared a revival last night and it was a awesome service. Then after church they had homemade ice cream. I was in heaven. I think I could eat my weight in homemade ice cream.

I had a baby doll and it's name was Jarvis (yes I named it myself and no I have no I deal where I came up with that name but it's not as bad as my cousin naming a little horse she got once Chocking Hazard because it said that on the box so she thought that was it's name. lol)
I don't actually still have Jarvis but one of my brothers ex girlfriends found a doll at the thrift store that looked just like him so she bought it for me and I still have it.

I am 5 foot even and I hate being short. I wish I was just a little taller may 2 or 3 inches.

Family Weekend

Friday night my nephew came in from college so we all went out to eat at a new place called Nothing but Noodles. They have "nothing but noodles" hence the name. American Noodles, Asian Noodles, Italian Noodles and so on and so forth. It was really good I had Sesame Lo Mein and it was yummy.

After eating we were going to go to Yogurt Mountain but it was packed so we decided to go to the Apple Store first then come back. After the Apple store Aaron decided he wanted to go home because he was tried. So Dustin took him home and my Sister, Hannah, Landon, and me went back to Yogurt Mountain.

Saturday we spent most of the day in our jammies. After lunch though I decided that we needed to go ahead and get our grocery shopping done. So to Walmart we went. After that we came back home and Landon took a long nap. Then we he woke up we went to Best Buy to get a power cord for my Wii and we also tried out a new yogurt place that just opened up called 32 degrees. It was the grand opening so we got 32% off! Score! While we were there it started storming so we hurried up and ate and started home before it got any worse.

Sunday morning Landon slept till after 10 o'clock. So after he finally woke up we got ready and went over to Granna's house and spent the rest of the day there till after Big Brother went off?

Is anyone else watching Big Brother? It is my summer addiction. I haven't really decided who I like yet but right now I like Hayden.

I four scars and they are all from the same accident. I have one on my left foot, my left hand, my right underarm, and the back of my head. The one on the back of my head I had to have staples for.

The day we got out of school my junior year me and one of my friends had a bad car accident but luckily we were ok just a few bangs and bruises.

4. What is a food that you like to eat, but others might think it's gross or weird?
I always put black pepper on my ketchup before I dip my fries in it.

5. Have you ever seen a tornado in real life?
I haven't seen one but my brother saw one once.

Boo Boo's

Landon got his first major boo boo (to this point) yesterday. He has had his fair share of bumbs and brusies but this is the first time that he has bled but of course he didn't cry he want back down to play.

He was playing under the hose pipe outside on the concrete and was getting so excited. We kept telling him to slow down or he was going to get hurt and the second that both Dustin and me had our backs turned he fell down.

We didn't do much on Friday night. Landon and me made a trip to Walmart. Then we came home to have his favorite meal. Spaghetti and Green beans. Then we just relaxed and watched some TV then we Hannah got off work she came to spend the night with us.

Saturday morning we woke up and we all went to breakfast at Chick-fil-a. Yummy.. Then Landon, Hannah, my Sister and me went swimming. Landon loves the water but he is still not too sure about the pool. After swimming we went to my sisters and Landon and Hannah took a nap while I got ready. Then we went to Yogurt Mountain, The Apple Store, and Sephora.

After we got done with all our shopping we went to meet our friends Andrea and Drew at Chili's. It was delicious. After dinner we went to Best Buy where Landon had to have a Yo Gabba Gabba movie. Then to target where I found him some bathtub crayons (I have been looking everywhere for them) for his birthday.

We didn't do to much on Sunday. We went and got groceries and then went to Granna's to visit and watch Big Brother which I am so glad is back on.

Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend but it was busy.

Friday night Dustin, Landon, and me me meet our friends Drew and Andrea (and baby Bryant who will be here next month) at Red Robin it was delicious as usual. Then we went over to there house for a bit. Drew and Dustin played play station while Andrea showed Landon and me Bryant's room. Landon had to play with all of his toys. Then we all started playing words with friends together. It was so much fun. Landon started getting sleepy at about 10 so we decided we better go home. He was asleep within five minutes.

Saturday we had sort of a lazy day. We went to Walmart and got groceries then we went to Granna's and visited with her, Randall, and Jen.

Sunday I was invited to go shopping with two of my friends whom I hadn't hung out with in close to 3 years. We went to a mall about an hour and a half from my house. We left at 11 and we didn't leave the mall until almost 6 then we decided to drive to Tennessee and get some scratch offs and lottery tickets. We didn't get back to my house until after 8. It was Randi and Nickole's first time to really see Landon. He loved them and I think they really liked him too.

After such a busy weekend I did not want to get up this morning. I had to drag myself out of bed.

We have been slowly teaching Landon to use the potty. He loves to pee pee in the potty. No number 2 yet. But Saturday morning was the first time that he came up to us and said. "I wanna potty". We usually have to ask him. Here is a picture of him on his "Froog" potty.

I know I have been a bad blogger but I just really needed a break. So I will not dwell on it.

Back almost a month ago I won tickets to go to the Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My sister, Landon, and me left on that Friday after work headed to Baton Rouge. Not even an hour into the trip we had to pull over at a rest area because it was raining and hailing so bad that we could not hardly see and the wind was blowing so hard it was shaking my sisters car. We had to stay at the rest area for about an hour.

We finally get back on the road and everything is going pretty good till about 8pm when Landon decides that he is sleepy and does not want to go to sleep in his car seat. I had to get in the back seat with him and sing to him for about 30 minutes before he went to sleep.

We got to our hotel at about 11 pm.

I have to go back a few days to tell you the store about the hotel. I won the tickets on Wed before the concert which was on Saturday and Sunday of Memorial day weekend. So when we went to find a hotel they were all booked. We thought we were not going to get to go but my wonderful husband finds a motel that has 2 rooms available. So we book one. Well we knew it was not going to be the best in the world but...

We we got there the first thing we see are hookers (no lie) then we finally get our room its on the second floor so we get out get our luggage and carry Landon (who is asleep up the stairs because the elevators do not work. We get up there and there is only one bed and the room smelt awful. So we go back down, Landon and me get in the car while my sister goes back to the desk. While she is in there Landon wakes up because there are some guys outside taking and yelling really loud (its almost midnight by this time). She comes back and says that we have to go back up to the second floor again. So here we go with all our luggage and Landon. We get to that room and the beds are all unmade (like someone is staying in this room) and there are beer bottles everywhere. Again we go back down to the desk. We get another room. Well this room is the cleanest of the three but is still disgusting. We hadn't been in the room five minutes some guy starts trying to get into our room (the people at the desk had gave him our room thinking no one was in it) So needless to say that my sister called down to the desk and said that we would stay there that night but she wanted her money back. I slept in my clothes and shoes in case we had to make a dash and I would not let Landon touch the bed I made him sleep on top of me. They told my sister that a manager would be in at 6 o clock so at about 5:45 we were down there waiting.

Luckily my niece was staying in a hotel with her dad in New Orleans Friday night and we were going to pick her on Saturday anyway. So we called and told them what was going on and they told us to come there and take showers and get ready. So we made the hour trip from Baton Rouge to New Orleans and went to there hotel to get ready.

We got ready and decided to go to the French Quarter for a bit to eat lunch. I had called Dustin and told him about the room and he was looking for other places to stay. Finally he found a room at the Holiday Inn in Baton Rouge so we called and got the last room they had. Thank goodness. We thought we were just going to have to go home and not get to go to the concert. After that little fiasco we had no more trouble. Well besides my camera decided to break on me.

1. Is there something you've always wanted to try but just can't muster up the courage to actually do yet?

The one thing that I had always wanted to do but didn't think I could ever do was fly in a plane and I did it when we went to Vegas and I loved it and can't wait to do it again.
2. If you had $100 handed to you in cash without your significant other knowing about it, what would you spend it on?
I would probably buy me one cute (cheap) outfit and spend the rest on Landon.

3. What was your favorite piece of playground equipment as a child?
Well I loved the Monkey Bars (Jungle Gym) but not so much after I fell off of them and broke my arm. So after that I guess just the swings.

4. Do you prefer a sweet or hearty breakfast?
At breakfast time I don't like to eat to much so probably something sweet but if it is brunch or breakfast for dinner then something hearty.

5. Are you a Neat Freak or a Messy Bessy?
I don't really think I am either. I like things neat but if its not then I am ok with it.

Since I've Been Gone

I took a little bloggy break for a while not really because I wanted to. I have missed blogging and checking out everyone elses but I have been so busy the past couple of weeks. Work is so busy because it is summertime one of the girls that usually helps us went home for the summer so that means more work for me. I also started physical theapy for my back again last week and that takes up a lot of my free time.

I took off last friday because I had physical theapy but I never thought I was going to make it to physical theapy Friday morning because I realized at about 7:00 Thursday night I had left my directions and the phone number at work and I was the first appointment of the day. So I left home hoping I could figure out where it was (bad mistake) I got so lost. I decided that I better just go by work and get the directions. So I parked in the tunnel under my building so I could run in and get them (btw there is a $100 fine for paking in that tunnel so I was running as fast as I could) I just grabbed the directions and ran out. After I got in the car I realized that I still did not have the number. I tried to follow the directions but I got lost again. My appointment was supposed to be at 7 and it was already 7 by this time. So I go back to work but I did not want to risk parking in that tunnel again after everything else was already going bad. So I parked in the parking deck and walked over to my building, got the number and called the office to see if they even wanted me to still come in. She said it was fine to come on in so I walked back over to the parking deck and I went to pay to get out and the machine was broken. I had to go back and park again and go down to the ground level and pay. By the time I finally made it to phyiscal therapy it was 7:30.

After I left physical therapy I was going home because Dustin, Travis, and me were going to Tunica. It was pouring down raining when I left and what should have took me about 20 minutes to get home took almost a hour. At one point I guess some water had gotten into my brakes and I went to stop and the brakes would not work. I am so glad that there were no cars and the light turned green, they finally started working again thank goodness. I finally made it home and we got on the road to Tunica and everything was good. We had a great time in Tunica. We ate at the Paula Deen buffet one night and it was delicious.

I have been trying to win tickets to the Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rouge for almost a month from a local radio station. I got a email Monday morning saying that I had won. I am so excited. I am taking my neice with me. My sister, my neice, Landon, and me are going to go down on Friday afternoon and are coming back on Sunday. The concerts are Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we are going to get to see: Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Kellie Pickler, David Nail and Gloriana and on Sunday we will be seeing Kenny Chesney, Brooks and Dunn, Jason Aldean, Jake Owen and Justin Moore. I am so excited. Also while we are there we are going to go to New Orleans, I have never been and I am looking forward to it.

I am sorry this post was so long.

I just wanted to tell everyone why I was being such a bad blogger. I do all my blogging and visit all your blogs in my free time at work because lets face after spending the whole day away from Landon and Dustin I just want to spend time with them when I get home. So on Monday when I get to work I try to come over here and the website is blocked and it is allotting me a certain amount of time to be on any blogspot blog. Crazy.. So that is why I haven't been around much. I think that I will start bring my laptop to work so I can blog on my lunch.

Anyway, I had a wonderful Mother's Day and I hope you all did too. Friday afternoon Dustin went and picked Landon up from daycare so I could go get a mani/pedi. It was so nice. Then we spent the weekend at Dustin's grandmothers. We all went out to eat Saturday night and had a great time.

The week so far has been pretty uneventful. My nephew is coming home to visit tonight so we are going over to my sisters for dinner. I can't wait to see him. Then this weekend we are going to graduation party for Dustin's cousin so that should be fun too.

Since I had Landon my splurges have really changed. They used to be purses, shoes, manis and pedis, and clothes for myself. They have changed some now.

1. Landon Britax Marathon- This was a huge splurge but so worth it. I love this car seat and it has great features. If we have another child I will defiantly be purchasing another one.

2. Landon's clothes- While I buy a lot of his clothes at consignment shops. I do tend to splurge on a few things every now and then. But I tend to go a little over board some times. You might remember this post where I wrote about Landon having 32 pair of pants. To give you a little peek of what I mean. Here is a picture of some (most I did keep maybe 20 things) of Landon 3-6 months clothes.

At 2:09 this morning I turned 24. So far I am having a pretty good birthday.

Thursday night before the Barons game, Dustin, Landon, and me had dinner at Ruby Tuesday's. Then my sister and my Nice took me to dinner at a local seafood place on Friday night. Then yesterday Dustin's mom cooked lunch for us. We had hamburgers, squash, fried potato's, green beans, and chocolate chip cookies. It was delicious. And tonight my dad is supposed to be taking us to dinner. I feeling like I have gained 20 lbs this weekend but it has all been worth it.

Well I am off to go Internet shopping with my birthday money. Hope you all have a great Monday.

Baseball

Thursday night Landon went to his first baseball game. We meet our friends Andrea and Drew to watch the Birmingham Barons play the Huntsville Stars. We ended up leaving during the middle of the 7th inning because it was already after 9. The Barons did win though 3-1.

Landon even won a prize for being the loudest fan (he actually wasn't being loud at all. I just had him standing in my lap clapping his hands. What did he win?

A whole pizza!!

He had a great time but as soon as we got in the car he fell asleep. We can't wait to go again.

1. If you could, would you go back to high school?
If I could know that Dustin and Landon would still be apart of my life then yes I would go back to high school and enjoy it. When I was there all I wanted was it to be over.

2. If a genie appeared and granted you two wishes, what would they be? (And, no saying "more wishes".)
I would wish to have enough money to quit work and live modestly and I would wish for there to be no incurable disease.

3. What kids show do you secretly like?
There is not a show now that I secretly "like" but if they had a channel that played the shows that they played on Nickelodeon in the 80's like; Rocko's Modern Life, Wild and Crazy Kids, Hey Dude, Tiny Tunes, Doug, Double Dare, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Clarissa Explains it All, Salute Your Shorts, and All That. I would permanently keep it on that channel. Those shows were the best.

4. What is your beverage of choice?
Coke

5. What is something that you would change about yourself (or are working to change in yourself)?
I am working on losing some weight and toning up my body.

Tonight Landon is going to his first baseball game. He loves "ball" so I know he will have a blast.
Monday is my 24th Birthday.
Landon has a few new words. One of my favorites is "song" when ever he hears music he says "song" It's too cute.
I am debating getting some highlights in my hair for the summer.
We don't really have anything planned this weekend and it is supposed to rain so maybe we will get some cleaning done.
We are trying to sell our wii and wii fit but aren't having any luck.
I have over 200 followers now and I am so excited. Thank you everyone.

Favorite Things About Summer

1. Cute Sandals: I love sandals and I would wear them all year if I could. Nothing says summer more than open toe shoes.

2. The Beach: One of my most favorite places to be. Although I prefer swimming in a pool than the ocean. I love the sand between my toes, the smell of the water, and the peaceful sounds.

Some other things that I love about summer are:

2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I love this car.

There are a lot of songs that I am embarrassed to that I know the lyrics too.

3. Have you ever had stitches?

Yes. I had stitches after I had my c-section. I also had to have staples in my head when the car above was wrecked.

4. What was your first job?
After-school daycare teacher. I loved my job.

5. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?
Sesame Street was one of my most favorite shows when I was little so I have a lot of favorite characters but my two favorites are; Cookie Monster and Slimey the worm.

Sorry I have been MIA. It's been a busy week around here.

What have we been up to?

Well over the weekend Dustin's cousins, Travis and Melanie, came over to stay with Dustin's mom. Friday night we all ate a Logans. Then on Saturday, Dustin and Travis went to the BMW dealership to get some stuff for Travis new car and to Wings, while Dustin's mom, Melanie, Landon, and me went to the mall and to Olive Garden. After Olive Garden we went to our towns Magnolia Festival. It was fun but very hot. After that we all went back to Dustin's moms and just hung out. Sunday after a quick trip to Walmart we went back over to Dustin's moms and grilled out and enjoyed the sunshine.

Landon also learned a new word over the weekend. While we were watching tv. A lady was on there talking and I don't even really know how he caught this but the lady was like "blah blah blah blah and I was so shocked and blah blah blah" and as soon as she got done talking Landon was going Shock, Shock, and he has be saying since then.

I had to make a visit to the Dermatologist yesterday for a little rash that has developed under my arm. She perscribed me some antibiotics. I hope they help.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and is having a good week so far.

1. What words do you use on your blog/online that you don't use in real life?
I guess I am pretty much a what you see is what you get kind of person. I say everything that you see.

2. Do you still write checks?
Not too often.

3. Who was your favorite President and why?
Ronald Reagan. He was president when I was born and I have always found him interesting.

4. Are you a yeller?
I can be. I try not to yell very much tough.

5. Have you ever dumpster dived?
No. Well not really. Once I when I was in elementary school. I took my friends lunch tray to the trash for her and I accidently through away her bite plate and she didn't realize it till the end of the day so her dad, her, and me all dug through the trash to find it.

A Visit To The Dentist...

Today I took Landon for his first visit to the Dentist. It is the same dentist that I went to when I was younger and so did my neice and nephew. So when it came to chosing a Dentist I knew where I was going to take Landon.

I thought he would be scared and cry but when we got back for the Dentist to look at his teeth. He did clench his teeth together but he never cried. He is becoming such a big boy. She said that everything looked great. We are doing a good job brushing every morning and right before bed, We don't drink juice or milk before bed, and we don't suck a paci or our thumb. The only concern that she had was that his teeth are somewhat close together and thats a early indication of them needing braces later on but she said that his mouth could widen and it would be just fine.

He got a new toothbrush, a fish toy, and two stickers for being so good. Overall our frist trip to the Dentist was successful.

On another note I did my weigh in last night. I was really nervous because I hadn't exercised any since last Thursday and I hadn't be sticking to my diet so well the past few days. But I hadn't lost any weight but I also didn't gain any. So I am back on my diet and trying to stick to it.

Biloxi

Over the weekend we took a trip to Biloxi. I had never been before and it was beautiful and we had a great time.

We left at about 2:00 on Friday afternoon and after making a few stops. I had to stop at Walmart and buy all new makeup because Dustin had taken my makeup bag out of the car before we left. We finally got there about 7:45. We stayed at the IP there and it was very nice. We just stayed around there on Friday night and played in the Casino and ate.

Saturday we decided that we would just drive around and visit all the different casinos. It was so much fun we had a great day. Here are some pictures from that day.

This is the closet I got to the beach. I just looked it at out of the car widow. So sad.

It was already dinner time when we finally got back to the IP. Dustin and me went and ate at the Sports bar and then after that we played our new favorite slot machine. The Village People Party. So fun.

On Sunday before we left we went back to a few of the casinos to play our free slot play. Right before we left the last one I told Dustin that I wanted to play the Roulette table once. I just had a feeling. He got us 5 dollars in chips he only put two on my number 17 and he put 3 on this number. Well guess what number came up 17! With my two dollars I won $72..

We had a great trip but I was glad to be home. I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend as well.

Reese Witherspoon.

2. Did you ever go to summer camp?
No, I always wanted to but I didn't like being away from home at night. (I don't think I ever even spent thenight way from home until middle school. Sad I know.

3. What sends you running and screaming in the other direction?
Birds. I am deathly afraid of them.

4. What is something you do that drives your spouse nuts?
Gosh there are lots of things. One that I do a lot that drive them nuts is when I drink like a water and I suck the bottle and it makes the bottle cave in and make a popping sound.He hates that.

5. What is currently your favorite song?
I have a lot but I guess I would have to say either American Honey by Lady Antebellum or The House that Built Me by Miranda Lambert.

Dieting...

I started this on Wednesday and I just now finishing becuase I was at home with Landon yesterday, we went to doctor and he has the croup. He doesn't act like he feels bad but I hope he gets better soon.

It's been a little over a week since I started my diet. I have been (trying to) eat better and for the most part just drinking water. I also have been doing a combination of The 30 Day Shred and Wii Fit. I don't have a scale so I am tracking my weight on my Wii Fit. I started out at 156.5 on 3/29 and as of this morning I am down tgo 150.1. I had a hard time over Easter weekend and when I weighed in on Monday, I had gained 1 pound. But I am happy with week 1's results.

Week 1: -6.4 lbs

Easter 2010

We had a wonderful Easter and I hope you all did as well. I didn't take any pictures because, I let my sister borrow my camera Thursday to take some pictures of her car to post on Craigslist and I didn't get it back from her until today.

Landon had a great time. I think he has finally got used to being around a big group of people. He would go to pretty much anybody, especially if they were going outside (he loves to be outside). He played outside for hours on Sunday.

He loved his Easter basket which was kind of baseball themed. It was a baseball basket with, sports themed eggs and soft balls, a carrot which was a bat, and a baseball shirt but it also had a Thomas the train dvd, a book, some M&M's and a pair of pants. His favorite part was the eggs.

We hunted Easter eggs and while he loved being outside he really didn't care to much about hunting the egss. He would pick them up and put them in his basket but after about 10 minutes he was ready to go back on the porch and play but he did find the prize egg.

Sorry if I haven't visit a lot of you this week. I have been lost in the '90's. Recently I started watching Beverly Hills, 90210 on Soap Net every Saturday and Sunday mornings. This week I went to TV.com and have been watching episodes over there, I hate to say it but it is so addicting...

Well my birthday is coming up next month and if anyone wants to purchase me anything.. I will take any of the seasons on dvd..

I am the youngest child. My sister is 19 years older than me and my brother is 23 years older than me. So I grew up being very spoiled. I also became a aunt when I was 5 years old.

2. I eat cake because I hate icing.. It is just to sweet for me and it makes me sick if I eat it.

The weather is getting prettier by the day and I have already started the dreaded search for a swim suit..(Which will take from now until probably June to find)... So it begins...Today I start getting ready for swimsuit season a.k.a summertime...Last night I bought The 30 day Shred...and I am starting dieting today.. Hopefully by the time swimsuit season is in full force I will be a few pounds lighter...

18 Months...

Landon is 18 months old today...I can't believe he is already half way to 2. Crazy...

We had a doctors visit this morning for his 18 month check up..

He is 22 pounds and he is 31.34 inches tall..

He is an excellent eater..

He loves his milk..

He is talking up a storm.. He can say lots of new words some of my favorites are:

Mallmart (walmart..lol..) Bob Bob (spongebob) and Choo Choo (Thomas)

He also calls anything that has to do with Alabama..A..

He is getting very indepenant.. He likes to feed himself and

doesn't really want Mommy feeding him.

He wears a size 4 diaper.

He wears any size clothes from

12 months to 2T...

Most of his pants are 12-18 months and

his shirts and onesies are 18 months to 2T..

He has twelve teeth...

He was so good at the doctor today. He got to pick a Choo Choo (Thomas) sticker and he proudly wore it..

Painting and New Bed..

When Dustin and me first got married we were looking for a couch and bed at Rooms to Go with his mom. We walked over to the kids section and we saw all the cute little beds and Dustin's mom told us that when we had a baby when "it" got ready for a bed instead of a crib she would buy "it" one from there. Well of course you all know that we know have Landon. We were going to wait on a bed because he hasn't outgrown his crib but Thanks to Obama places aren't allowed to offer the no interest for 3 years or whatever like Rooms to Go did. We went a few weekends before that stopped so she could still qualify for that. We had a hard time deciding on a bed. Dustin wanted bunk beds and that would have been ok but I wanted him to have a full size bed so he could use it for a long time. The full size bunk beds would have taken up his entire room. So finally we decided on a full size Alabama bed it has a captain's drawers and two little doors so you can store stuff under the bed without it being seen (which I love).

Update: Here is the bed my MIL just sent me this picture.

Before it arrived we decided that we were going to paint his room because it was a sea green color and we didn't think that it would look to good with his new bed. We decided to paint it Gray with a Crimson accent wall. Here is some pictures of the painting process.

I think it looks really good.

Landon also got this super cute chair to go with his bed.

I think he loves it. He is able to get into and out of it all by himself.

1. My Cell Phone... I have a Blackberry Curve and I use it for so much..I do a lot of work from emails and I get all of my emails on my phone. I also use it for other more important stuff such as Facebook, and Twitter. I would be completly lost without my phone.
2. My Straightner...I don't know what I would do without it. I use it pretty much every single day. Unless it is raining then I usually wear it curly because it will end up that way as soon as I step foot outside.

The Child Will Eat Anything.

Landon will eat anything. I have yet to find anything that he will not eat. He loves all food. Some things he has eaten that I find crazy for a 1 year old to eat are: beef jerky, spinach dip, hot chips, and yesterday he ate a piece of a raw potato and a piece of a raw onion (yuck). He really loves fruit though and especially oranges and bananas. But he always makes crazy faces when he eats oranges. Here is a little video of him eating a orange:
